Nature Communications is becoming a fully open
access journal. From 20th October 2014 all papers submitted to Nature
Communications must be published open access, through payment of an article
processing charge (APC), in the case of eventual publication. For further

Nature Communications is a multidisciplinary journal that
publishes high-quality research from all areas of the natural sciences and has
an Impact Factor of 10.742 according to the 2013 Journal Citation Reports®
Science Edition (Thomson Reuters, 2014). Papers published by the journal
represent important advances of significance to specialists within each field.
The open access articles will increase in number from early next year, with 2015 seeing the transition from subscription to full open access availability.
