It just got easier to find the journal title you want...

The journals feature within Library SmartSearch has been upgraded and includes new functionality. 


Search for a journal title within SmartSearch, and use the Journal search box in your results list to search for articles within that journal!

Select the Journals link from the banner and either search for the title you want, or browse a list of journals within a certain discipline!

Want to read the Financial Times?

The Library is now receiving print copies of the Financial Times. We receive an issue every day except Sunday and we are maintaining a print backfile for one month.

The latest issue can be found on the Ground Floor and will be placed on the window shelf near to the cafe.

Once the Ground Floor issue has been replaced it will be taken to the 1st floor and shelved with the Journal Collection.

Please visit the Library Building, grab a coffee from Cafe Libro and relax with the Financial Times.

You can also get online access to the Financial Times articles via the newspaper database Nexis UK and the business journal database called PROQUEST.  Full details are available via the Business and Management LibGuide

Requests for journal stock from Store

One of the rolling stacks in our journal store is broken which means that any journal titles kept at store numbers between S2 and S498 are currently unavailable. We're working to get this fixed as soon as possible, but there will be a delay in retrieval of this material for the time being. Material at store numbers S499 onwards are still available as normal.

Removal of printed journals from the Library

The printed journals have been removed from the Library in readiness for the refurbishment of the 2nd and 3rd floors of the Library this summer. 

Some titles have gone into storage and won't be available until October, but most titles have been taken over to the Library Store and are available for loan on request. 

Check the Journal A-Z list for details of each title. 

If you need access to an article from a title in storage, please use our Inter-Library Loans service. Titles in the Library Store can be requested by following the link in each journal record to the on-line request form.

Printed Journals Returned to Library

The printed journals have now been returned to the first floor of the library after being held in storage during the refurbishment. Please check the Library catalogue for holdings.

Access to printed journals during summer vacation

As part of the Library refurbishment project over the summer, it will be necessary to remove all printed journals from the 1st floor of the Library and place them in storage. Therefore, there will be no access to 1st floor printed journals from June 10th to October 6th. Please make use of our Inter-Library Loans service during this time.
