Access to e-Library from student residences

There has been a problem getting on to the e-Library from student residences since the beginning of this term. ISA have informed us that this has now been resolved. If you continue to have problems, please comment on this post, stating which residence you are trying to access the e-Library from.

    I am on placement, and still cannot access the e-library from where I am? When will this be sorted?

    Accessing the e-Library from placement is a different issue from the problems we encountered in the residences. We have found in the past that some organisations block the port that the e-Library sits on in their firewall. If this is the case, then you will need to ask your IT department to allow access to ports 3210 and 8331. If you aren't able to resolve this issue then you can always access all of our subscribed databases from the list on the e-resources webpage http://www1.aston.ac.uk/lis/eis/. Hope this helps.
