It's really important that you bring your uniCARD each time you visit the Library.
If you do forget your card, then you can ask for a Day Pass Monday - Friday 09:00 - 17:00 but students can only get 3 day passes per academic year so please do try and remember to bring your uniCARD on each visit.

New version of Solidworks is now available to borrow from the Library Help desk
The Library now has the new version of SolidWorks.

Do you need access to SPSS?
Aston University has signed an agreement where SPSS can be used for academic and / or teaching purposes. University students can install it on their personal devices for the purposes of studying. University staff can also install it on personal devices for studying or to help develop or deliver academic or teaching activities.

Journals and articles from Taylor & Francis currently unavailable
The e-journals platform Taylor & Francis is currently unavailable due to a technical problem. The suppliers of the platform are looking into this as a matter of urgency. This blog post will be updated when the problem has been resolved.
In the meantime if you are using Find it @ Aston to access journal articles and the article is from another supplier as well as Taylor & Francis please use one of these links instead to access the full text.

Aston University Open Day
Today the Library is welcoming prospective students and their families for the University's Open Day. Members of Library Staff are on hand to answer any questions and provide directions.
The Library 2nd Floor Workshops are open so visitors can find out more about the support and workshops offered to students by the Information Specialists as well as the online resources specific to their subject area of interest.
There are also food and drinks available at Cafe Libro to sustain visitors.

Aston Aspires Week - Westlaw task based training for law students
ASTON ASPIRES: Westlaw training
On Wednesday 4th November the Library will be hosting a Scenario and task based training session using Westlaw UK. The workshop will be led by a Thomson Reuters Westlaw trainer - Julie Watts. Students will be given a 1 hour demonstration and will then have 30 minutes to work through a realistic research exercise using Westlaw UK. This innovative task-based training will replicate common questions asked in legal practice.
