Cite it! Sort it! EndNote it!

The Information Services Team in the Library are running additional workshops the week beginning the 22nd of February, 2016 to support staff and students in using EndNote.

EndNote is a commercial reference management software package, used to manage references when writing essays and articles. It is produced by Thomson Reuters.

In the workshop, the Information Specialists will work through creating an EndNote Library online, importing references from other sources (such as Scopus, Proquest, Library SmartSearch & Google Scholar) and managing your references once they are in your EndNote Library.  There will be plenty of opportunity to practise and the Information Specialist will be in the room to support you.

Finally, we will look at how you can import your references in to your Word document using the Cite While You Write function.

The EndNote workshops are open to final year undergraduates writing a dissertation, postgraduates starting their final project, research students and academics.

If you are interested in attending please view the workshop timetable and register for one of the events.

LexisLibrary and Westlaw training and certification workshop

LLB and Law with Management students,
To coincide with your study skills week we are offering a chance to take part in a free Westlaw and LexisLibrary training and certification workshop.  As a student studying Law you know that Westlaw and LexisLibrary are the two big legal databases providing access to legal cases, legislation and journal articles.
Certification is a great way of testing your legal research skills and learning how to use Lexis and Westlaw most effectively. It also looks great on your CV and demonstrates to employers that you have a good standard of legal research skills. You’re not just saying it – you’ve got proof!  We have invited a professional trainer from each company to guide you through the database and support you through the certification process.
How to book on to the workshops
We are running a certification workshop for each database.  Lexis Library we are repeating the session in the morning and afternoon please only book on to one workshop for LexisLibrary.  For Westlaw there is now a choice or you can do both.  Click on the workshop of choice to book your event ticket.
