The Library is now open 24/6 - open all the time except for Saturday evening from 18:00 - Sunday morning at 11:00

Library Opening Hours - 24/6 Commences on Monday 30 November 2015

The Library will be open 24/6 from Monday 30th November for the revision and examination period.    Throughout 24/6 the Library only closes at 18:00 on Saturday evenings and re-opens at 11:00 the following Sunday morning.

The Library is a controlled access building, so please remember to bring your uniCARD on each visit.

• Ground floor  - Group Study (Can eat cold snacks - hot food must not be brought into Library, can use phones)
• First floor  - Quiet Study (No eating, no use of phones)
• Second floor - Group Study (Can eat cold snacks, can use phones but switch ringer to silent mode)
• Third floor - Single Silent Study at all times (No eating, no use of phones)

• Tonight, Friday 28 November the Library is open until 02:00 in the early morning.
  
• The Library re-opens at 10:00 on Saturday 29 November and closes at 18:00 on Saturday evening.
  
• The Library re-opens on Sunday 30 November at 11:00 and closes at 02:00 in the early morning.
  
• The Library opens at 08:00 on Monday 1st December and is then open 24 hours over 6 days so it is open all the time except from 18:00 Saturday evenings until 11:00 Sunday mornings.
  
• 24/6 opening continues until Thursday 18 December inclusive

You will need to bring your uniCARD with you whenever you visit the Library.

Library 24/6 Opening

Welcome Back and Happy New Year

The Library is currently open 24/6 and this will continue until Friday 7 February inclusive.
We hope that you can make good use of the Library during this revision and examination period. 

During 24/6 the Library is open all the time from 11:00 on Sunday mornings through to 18:00 on Saturday evenings. 

• Please bring your uniCARD each time you visit the Library to swipe in
• Do take regular breaks - you can eat your snacks on Ground floor
• Please switch phones to silent mode as you go upstairs - if you need to take a call, then please move to the stairwells so that you don't disturb other students studying for exams.

If you need somewhere really quiet to study, then the 3rd floor of the Library is the place to go.  It is a very peaceful and quiet study environment.  Aston University students get top marks for dedicated, silent study!

Supporting you during exams

What is Aston University Library & Information Services doing to support you during the exam period?

Firstly, we have gone to 24/6 opening for the Library.  You can use the study spaces, ground floor group study rooms, fixed PCs, printing facilities, all hard copy and electronic resources and self-service facilities in the Library from 11am on Sunday mornings through to 6pm on Saturday evenings.  Just swipe into the building with your uniCARD.

We have also increased the availability of silent study space in the Library, as we know that demand for this type of study space increases during exams.  Both the 3rd and the 2nd floors of the Library are for silent study only during this period.  Please be considerate of other students wishing to make use of the silent study space when on these floors.  If you are aware of other students making noise on these floors, please text the Welcome Desk (see posters for the number) and a member of staff will come and ask them to move to a group study floor.

Finally, as you might expect, we have a large number of books and e-books in stock with advice on how to tackle exams and coping with stress.
