Book swap!



Following on from the success of the book swap during Go Green Week earlier this term, there is another book swap in the Library foyer today and tomorrow.  


Bring along a book you no longer need, and swap it for another!

The Sustainable Organization Library contains more than 8000 individually searchable chapters, case studies and journal papers drawn from more than 600 book and journal volumes, published by the leading independent sustainability publisher, Greenleaf Publishing, and a number of partner organizations. Each item carries its own metadata, which means that the collection is fully searchable at the chapter/article level.

Advanced Warning: Planned maintenance for Library System and potential down time on 29th March 2014

We have been advised by our Systems supplier that they will be performing maintenance at their data centre between 00:00 and 05:00 on 29th March 2014.  During this time there may be a period of 15 minutes when our Library System is unavailable for accessing your Library record or using the self service facilities.

Please bear this in mind if you need to renew your books or borrow items during this maintenance window.

Science Direct: PDFs

You may have some problems accessing PDFs in Science Direct using Firefox or Explorer. If you use the Google Chrome browser, PDFs should open without problems.

Datastream access in the Library - now working!

The Datastream computer is out of order at the moment.  The fault has been reported to ISA and we will let you know when it is resolved. 

If you are looking for financial information on companies registered in the UK please try the database called FAME.  If you are looking for financial information on companies registered outside of the UK please try ORBIS

Both databases are available via the Business & Management LibGuide and then click on the Databases tab > Company information

Datastream is now working again (Monday 10th March - 16:00)

After the power outage....

The Library Building is open but there are still a few intermittent problems with logging on to printers, desk top computers and the wifi network.  If you have any problems logging on in the Library please seek assistance at the Library Help Desk.  ISA are aware of the problem and are working to resolve it.

FREE access to Palgrave Journals and journal articles


Palgrave Macmillan have announced that they will be offering free online access to all of their journals from  March 1st 2014 until 31st March, 2014 This includes all current and archival content for our journals in Economics. Just click through to articles of interest and start reading!

You can search by topic or browse titles including:
IMF Economic Review - the official research journal of the International Monetary Fund, publishing policy-relevant and innovative academic research on global macroeconomics.
